I can't even begin to explain how fun it is to coach Soul Runner. He's always ready to push the pace and fight hard for every win. We've been working together for a few months now, and when we started, he was surprised when I insisted on taking his easy runs easy. "But I can run faster than that!" he said. My response? Have patience. Trust the process.

We've been steadlily building mileage and incorporating a variety of speed workouts each week. The plan is clearly working! Soul Runner also enjoys participating in weekend races, and in the last few weeks he was able to hop into a 5K and an 8K while maintaining his training load. As an example, last weekend's 5K required a 5K warmup. He was probably the only runner who raced the 5K after running a 5K. Nonetheless, he took 1st in his age group and 4th overall.

His next big challenge is a Half Marathon in March, and he's right on track to crush it! Keep an eye on him via TikTok. He's not only inspirational and funny, but also building a vibrant and interactive community of runners who support one another.

I'm so proud to be a small part of his journey and can't wait to see what he accomplishes next!
